Edsel Manning Holland
Edsel M. Holland, 92, of Mauldin, husband of Eunice Coley Holland for 70 years, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, June 9, 2017 while at home surrounded by his family.
Born in Kenly, NC, he was a son of the late Russell Manning Holland and the late Minnie Lee Barnes Holland. Mr. Holland served in the United States Navy during WWII and Korea. He served on the USS Nuthatch Minesweeper in the Mediterranean Sea.
In addition to his wife, Eunice, Mr. Holland is survived by three sons, Rusty Holland and his wife, Dawn, of Simpsonville, Donald Holland and his wife, Anne, of Greenville, and Bruce Holland of Myrtle Beach; one daughter, Jan Holland Mills Souza, and her husband, Mark, of Simpsonville; five grandchildren, Brandi Mills, Michael Holland, Jill Holland (Caleb) Wilkins, Ginny Holland, and LeeAnn Mills (Matt) Faulkner; and six great-grandchildren, Piper Akins, Griffin Akins, Summer Wilkins, Koah Wilkins, James Thomas Faulkner, and Presley Mills Faulkner.
A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, June 11, 2017 at 3:00 PM at Mauldin United Methodist Church.
The family will receive friends at the church starting at 2:00 PM prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to: Mauldin UMC, 100 E. Butler Rd, Mauldin, SC 29662 or Open Arms Hospice, 1836 W. Georgia Rd., Simpsonville, SC 29680.
