James E. Garrett

James Edward Garrett, 80, of Fountain Inn, SC, husband of Alice Faye Garrett, passed away on Friday, January 24, 2025. Born in McCormick, SC, he was a son of the late Willie and Janie Bell Garrett.

In addition to his wife, James is survived by four children, Dwayne Garrett, Faye Calhoun (Larry), L’Tanya Hager (John), and Marcus Garrett; eight grandchildren, Dominique Garrett, Patience Garrett, Maddie Garrett, April Lewis, Nicholas Calhoun, Octavius Garrett, John Willis-Cox, and Marcus Childs; seven great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Demetrius Garrett; and three siblings, Effie McGee, Shirley Garrett, and Vincent Garrett.

A Public viewing will be held on Friday, January 31, 2025, from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. at Cannon-Byrd Funeral Home; 1150 N. Main Street, Fountain Inn, SC 29644.

A Graveside service will be held on Saturday, February 1, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. in Cannon-Byrd Memorial Park.
