Carol Leroy Dean
Carol L. Dean, 85, of Simpsonville, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, January 23, 2025.
Born in Simpsonville, he was a son of the late George & Daisy Dean. Mr. Dean worked at Simpsonville Mills as a Loom Fixer until the closing of the mill and retired from the City of Simpsonville.
Mr. Dean is survived by his children, Reggie Dean and his wife, Kim, of Gray Court, and Cheri Marler and her husband, Chuck, of Laurens; seven grandchildren, Justin Dean (Stephanie), Matt Dean (Mary Beth), Taylor Dean, Sarah Yeargin, Stephanie Yeargin, Samantha Yeargin (Damioni), and Russ Marler (Courtney); and ten great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one son, Chuck Dean; and two brothers, Bobby Joe Dean and Floyd Dean.
The funeral service will be held on Monday, January 27, 2025 at 1:00 pm in the Cannon Byrd Funeral Home Chapel in Fountain Inn. Officiating the funeral will be Pastor John Young and Pastor Gary Montgomery. Interment will follow in Cannon Byrd Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home starting at 12:00 pm.
Following, the family will proceed to the home of Cheri and Chuck Marler.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Hospice of Laurens County at 1304 Springdale Dr, Clinton, SC 29325.

Carol is my cousin. He lived up the street from us on the mill hill back in the 50s. He used to take me fishing when I was a kid. He was a good guy. Sorry for your loss, he will be missed.
