James G. Waters
James George Waters, 79, of Waterloo, SC, husband of Catharine ‘Cathy’ Waters, went to his eternal home with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, December 9, 2024. Born in Plainview, TX, he was the son of the late Lee Roy and Louise Stout Waters.
Of the many roles that James fulfilled in his lifetime, he was most proud to be a devoted husband of 61 years, loving father, and Papa. In addition to his wife, James is survived by two daughters, Jamie Waters Wilkie and Gena Waters Dalton (Chris); six grandchildren, Tiffany Scruggs (Tyler), Kristin Cole (Adam), Taylor Dalton (John), Bradley Wilkie (Veronika), McKinsey Wilkie (Devan), and Chase Dalton; seven great grandchildren, Hayleigh, Landon, Tinsley, Nevaeh, Callie, Kynleigh, and Watson; and a stepbrother, Leroy Johnson (Mary).
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a great granddaughter, Kayla Nelson Maldonado.
James will be greatly missed and forever in our hearts.
A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, December 12, 2024, at 1:30 p.m. in the Chapel at Cannon-Byrd Funeral Home- Simpsonville; 313 N. Main St., Simpsonville, SC 29681. Interment will be in Graceland East Memorial Park following the service.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home starting at 12:30 pm.

James was always a very close friend as well as 1st cousin, I will eternally miss him!! He and Cathy we constant companions during mist if my high school years. I know he cherished his family! I am glad he no longer is suffering. All my prayers for the family
