Michael Alan Barnett

Michael Alan Barnett, 72, of Simpsonville, passed away on Tuesday, April 25, 2017. Born in Highland Park, Michigan, he was the son of the late Garmon Ashland and the late Grace Alice Sparks Barnett.

Alan graduated from Barnwell High School and worked for many years with B.C. Moore & Sons leading to his relocation to Simpsonville in 1975. Since moving to Simpsonville, Mr. Barnett touched many lives through his work with local churches and civic organizations.

Mr. Barnett is survived by his wife, Dorothy Barnett; two daughters, Wendy Fowler and her husband, Jody, of Fountain Inn, and Dawn Autorino and her husband, Mark, of Inman; two step-children, Sami Moody and her husband, Randy, of Greenville, and Michael Duncan of Greensboro, NC; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two step grandchildren and a sister, Gail Rosier of Richland, SC.

Mr. Barnett was preceded in death by his first wife, Shirley Driggers Barnett.

A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, April 29, 2017 at 11:00 AM in the Chapel at First Baptist Church Simpsonville.

The family will receive friends at the church starting at 10:00 AM before the service.

Interment will be in Woodlawn Memorial Park in Greenville.
