James R. Pope
James Richard Pope, 89, of Simpsonville, SC, husband of Nancy Pope, passed away on Sunday, June 7, 2026. Born in Sand Mountain, AL, he was a son of the late James Oscar and Ella Mae Lamunyon Pope.
In addition to his wife, James is survived by his son, Barry J. Pope (Colleen); five grandchildren, Kyle Pope (Riley), Kelsey Pope (Sean Madden), Ella Sherman (Hayes), Kyra Kahaleh (Carl), and Brady Fay (Maggie); three great grandchildren, James M. Pope, Everett Pope, and Lee Kahaleh; and his son-in-law, Gerard Fay.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Lori Lee Fay; and ten siblings.
